It is at the National Forensic Academy in Tennessee that we find David Hunter in “Whispers of the Dead”. With the murderer of Runa still at large, David decides to escape London and the violence that almost killed him. Having come this close to his own death, he returns to the “Body Farm” to find out whether he can still continue working with death in its most gruesome forms. He accepts working, together with his former mentor at the Body Farm, on a murder investigation. The victim’s bo dy, discovered bound and tortured in a hut in the forest, is in a state of decomposition far more advanced than it should be. With fingerprints abundant at the crime scene, it seems easy to find the murderer, until the police realise they belong to a man who has died six months ago. Examining the bodies found in the course of the investigation, David gathers one clue after another, which bring him ever closer to identifying the criminal . J’écoute souvent la radio Powertürk sur Internet, et là plutôt le canal avec des chansons anciennes turques des dernières 40 années. Et ce n’a pas été jusqu’au dernier jour de l’an 2016 que j’ai commencé à écouter le canal appelé French Café. Et le lendemain, quand j’étais en train d’écrire à mon ordinateur, je me suis arrêté tout d’un coup en y entendant une chanson pour la toute première fois : c’était « Dernière Danse » d’Indila. Et la chanson m’a captivé tout de suite. J’ai arrêté mon travail, ai augmenté le volume et ai fermé mes yeux. Wow! Quelle chanson ! Quelle voix ! C’est assez rare que j’entends une chanson qui me plaît immédiatement. Et encore plus rare est-il que je me trouve tellement ému. Indila, de son vrai nom Adila Sedraia, est une chanteuse parisienne d’origine algérienne, mais aussi cambodgienne, égyptienne et indienne.     In “Written in Bone” David Hunter is called out to the Hebridean island of Runa. In a cottage in the woods a body has been found. It is almost entirely burnt, except for the feet and one hand, which miraculously are nearly unscathed. Though mysterious, the incident is set aside as an accidental death by the local police. But David’s instincts tell him otherwise. Even though, without special equipment, there is little he can do, David is forced to stay on the island as a mighty storm makes it impossible to leave Runa and severs all communication to the mainland. As the killing continues, the residents of Runa realise that, after all, the first victim did not die by accident.
