Hommage à Erasmus

At the beginning of 2003 September,
After a journey smooth and tender,
We arrived in Paris – cheer up!
30 students from all over Europe.

Modigliani, Citéa, Les Lauréades,
The network was quickly built up.
Very soon we knew of one another much,
Spaniard, Finnish, German and the Dutch.

CAF, Crédit Lyonnais, Mme Chamayou,
At the beginning there was much to do.
But finally we all survived the worst,
Although we said some many curse.

Produits nouveaux, French, Intel éco,
There was still a long way to go.
Even the worst exam couldn’t frighten us,
So we went to bars by metro and the bus.

You ask: Where to go when it’s party time?
I say: My friend, it’s 909.
There to drink vodka, wine, and beer,
Till you look like Santa’s red-nosed deer.

Unfortunately half way through,
Some of us chose to go.
But new friends arrived – mind it!
Thus survived the ERASMUS-spirit.

Soon came the second International Dinner,
Helping us to avoid getting thinner.
We continued our way through the streets of Paris.
Spring has come, that’s the way it is!

And now we come to the poem’s end,
I hope we’ll always stay friend and friend.
And if some day we look upon another shore,
The Raven says: I will forget you nevermore.
